4 Tips for Brides from Chamonix Bride in Rhinebeck

It’s SO much fun getting to chat with other wedding vendors in the Hudson Valley region. I was absolutely thrilled to meet up with the beautiful girls at Chamonix in Rhinebeck, NY the other week. These girls are as sweet as their dresses are beautiful! I wanted to pick their brains a bit so I could share some helpful information for brides. Here’s what they had to say:

1. What’s your absolute favorite trend for dresses right now? Why?

Flowy, effortless, lightweight gowns are so in season and always feel fresh, natural and modern. We love the effortless femininity of Wtoo by Watters and the bohemian flare of Willowby. They have a way of bringing out the beauty and personality of the bride without feeling contrived or overdone.

2. If a bride is self-concious about her figure for one reason or another, do you have any tips on how she can choose a dress that will make her feel extra beautiful?

The most important tip I give in this case is to tell the bride to be open to trying different silhouettes to see what flatters her figure the best. It is ok to have an image in mind of what you’d like your gown to look like, but if you try it on and it doesn’t work for your body type, be open to switching it up! Experienced consultants can recommend the best gowns for each body type — trust in the process. And relax…there really is something for everyBODY! It is just a matter of trying different gowns on and finding something that highlights the beautiful bride that you are!

3. Shopping for a wedding dress can be a little overwhelming. Do you have any tips to help make it more fun than stressful?

The best tip I can give in response to this is to bring 1 or 2 people that love and support you, that are not negative or divisive in anyway. You don’t want any drama to take away from this experience, and you want to keep the focus on yourself. You are in charge of this experience and it is your job to set yourself up for success. I would also recommend doing your research-make sure you go to only reputable shops. And don’t fall into the trap of “over-thinking” or “second-guessing yourself.” You know when it is right, trust in yourself.

4. Anything else you’d like to share with brides?

Enjoy it…the whole experience should be fun. Find great professionals to work with and trust their guidance-they are your team and their goal is to support you and your dream. Take a step back and feel how amazing it is to have a team working to make your special day a success!

Hudson Valley brides, pop in and see these girls. This was my first time meeting them and I felt like I was chatting with old friends. Their bridal salon is charming and inviting … and their dresses are GORGEOUS!

XO,
Kate
