Baby Owen is the third child of my veeeeeeery first “client” ever. I’ve told the story a million times … but the short of it is that my best friend asked me to photograph her sister’s first pregnancy. I had no idea what I was doing and no idea that I was about to find my new career, but we took the pictures (eh hm, with someone holding a shadeless lamp up as our lighting … really) and I loved doing it. And now here I am photographing her third little one.
This time around, my best friend was there to sweat it out with me as I photographed Owen (space heaters keep naked little babies happy and sleeping … whilst the adults in the room start to melt!) and as I was snapping away, she said, “you have the best job, Kate.” And it’s true. I do. She grabbed this picture of me and Owen and despite the fact that I didn’t brush my hair that day (I swear I do brush it when I’m meeting regular clients … promise!), I’m so glad I have it. I mean, I get paid to snuggle with little sweet babies : ) …
