creativity and a beautiful you shoot — delaware glamour photography

My creativity was on E. And it was all their fault. If only SOMONE in the company had taken the time to provide me with a means of building my creative muscles, instead of just sucking the life out of them. If only I had a boss who really cared about professional development, maybe then I would be at my creative best. If only I didn’t have to work with others who didn’t always appreciate me. I felt overworked and frustrated.

Fast forward four years to the end of last year. My creativity was on E. I felt overworked and frustrated. If only I had a team to help booster up my creativity. If only I wasn’t working alone. If only I had a boss who could handle the business type things I don’t love doing so I could just create. It just didn’t seem fair. I felt like I couldn’t win. I was so sure that once I didn’t have to work for someone else that my creativity would flourish. So why was I so tired?

Enter the What If! Conference. (Told you I was going to talk a lot about it!)

I decided that it was time for a change in perspective. What if I took responsibility for my actions? What if I placed the blame where it belonged … on me? What if I recognized that it’s MY responsibility to keep my creative tank charged and ready to go?

I left Mexico vowing to make a change. It suddenly dawned on me that I wasn’t living my life in a very creative manner. I eat the same six or seven meals throughout the week. They know my name and my drink at Starbucks. They know my name, my profession, and that I all too often wear yoga pants during the week at my Coop. My fitness routine never changes. My hair never changes. I am … BORING. A boring artist? That’s no good.

I made a promise to myself that I was going to start making some changes. It wasn’t just about adding in professional development (although I’m going to do that), but it’s also about adding in some personal development. Why not take a pilates class instead of just using my pilates machine at home? Why not cut out some recipes and try things I’ve never tried (the vanilla chia pudding I made last night was AMAZING!). And yes, why not NOT wear yoga pants every day? Or at least why not try yoga pants in another color than gray. (Baby steps. Baby steps.)

Ok, now on to some pictures! Remember that randomly warm day we had last week? It seemed like the perfect time to do a little shooting just for me. Artica was kind enough to answer my casting call and we went out right before sunset in a few areas at Fair Hill. Here’s the lovely end result : ) …

GORGEOUS!!!!!!!! …

Thanks so much, Artika!!!!! You were the perfect  model!!!!!

Happy Thursday : )
