Today I was feeling a little nostalgic (is it the rain?), so I grabbed a cup of coffee and flipped through my box of personal photos. A few things became glaringly clear:
1. My hair should never be cut really short again. EVER.
2. Ages 8 through 12 were just not a good time for me. I’d show you the pictures to prove it … but I’ll spare you. Just trust me. Things got better once I went off to Weight Watchers : )
2. I love my friends.
3. I love my dogs.
4. I love Maine.
5. I love upstate NY.
6. Glamour Shots were a mistake. A BIG BLUE mistake.
This is my second year (already?!) living in the beautiful Hudson Valley and I’m just in love. But my pictures are proof that this is not a new-found love. I have years and years worth of pictures of me and friends at the beautiful Lake Minnewaska, in quirky New Paltz, and wandering about the stately Vanderbilt Mansion’s property.
I had to smile as I was looking at those pictures of us at Vanderbilt, because now I’m there every day. It’s my favorite place to walk or lay on a bench and read. It also just happens to be one of my favorite places to take pictures. And this particular session was SUCH a delight because …
1. I love these kids and their spunky personalities.
2. We photographed them there last Summer and it’s so fun to see how they and the property have changed with the seasons.
3. I’ve known them for such a long, long while! Like … just-born long while. See.
And before I make yet another list in this blog post, let me go ahead and show you the PERFECT fall afternoon we spent together — right before the leaves dropped.
