fall phone snaps — Dutchess County, NY high school senior photographer

There’s so much that I love about fall.

The beautiful colors in the trees. And then on the ground. And then … gone.

The dreamy light that filters through the trees in the late afternoon and then suddenly disappears way earlier than I ever expect it to. It’s always funny to me how 3:00 is light and bright and very much the afternoon, and then suddenly, what feels like moments later, nighttime arrives. I don’t love the early darkness so much, but that little window of time … it’s maybe 15 minutes or so right before the sun sets … oh, how I love that little moment of orange glowing light!

The boots. Who doesn’t love boots?!

The fall decor. Candles flickering … berry wreathes … lanterns. I love it all. And while we’re talking about decor, I have to tell you that I just discovered Hobby Lobby. What on earth?! We don’t have one in my neck of the woods in Delaware. But there’s one here in Poughkeepsie. Talk about a dangerous place! ; )

We got our first little bit of frosting the other day and it was gorgeous! It was winter’s announcement. But for now, I’m going to keep on holding onto every little big of fall that I can. Starbucks in hand … leaf crunching under foot.
