I always do a few stretches before a session when the little one is in the 15-20 month category because that seems to be the age where running away from the photographer is SUPER DUPER FUN!!!!! But Miss Jade was a cutie pie who was quite happy to have her picture taken : ) …

This is Bella. If you know me, then you know I have a little black chihuahua named Bella … so you know it was love at first sight when I met this little cutie : ) …

Dogs loooooove toddlers. They drop food and always have crumbs all over them! …

It’s always so nice when we can include a little one’s favorite toy in some pictures. As you can see, Jade just adores her pink elephant : ) …

Kitty really didn’t want anything to do with our photoshoot … but Jade made the most of her presence anyway : ) …

Just  kidding. We were only pretend sleeping here. But it sure is cute : ) And my guess is this is what the whole family looked like not too long after I left. Photo shoots are hard work!

It’s been so rainy and dreary around here lately (not today … hurry, get outside … it’s gorgeous out there!) so we had to reschedule their engagement session a few times. And finally, with the wedding fast approaching, we just had to go for it one evening despite the fact that thunderstorms were rolling in our way. But thanks to all the rain, everything is so green and lush …

It was so obvious to me during our shoot how much these two love and depend on each other. And I love how they’re always smiling and laughing  …

We originally were planning on doing their shoot at Valley Garden Park, but we switched it to Gibraltar Gardens in Wilmington because there are some overhangs there and I was pretty sure the heavens were going to open up on us. They didn’t … but Gibraltar turned out to be the perfect place for our shoot anyway …

She’s also a new big sister! This is little Brady. He has the sweetest little lips and the most gorgeous skin! …

He is such a little sweet pea. He was a good boy for his entire session and gave us an equal amount of awake and sleeping shots …

Elsie is learning that it isn’t always easy being a big sister …

But she’s doing a good job …

It was a windy day the day of our session. But thankfully, the family’s backyard has tall buildings all around it, which blocked the wind and kept little Brady nice and warm …

I didn’t bring the yellow hat for Elsie, but she took a liking to it. And I have to say, she sure does look super cute in it! In this next picture she reminds me so much of her cousin, Gracie …

Jackson and his family were in town for his aunt’s wedding … just the day before his photo session. Yes, these brave folks scheduled a family shoot the day after a big family wedding : ) Since they were leaving to go home the following day, we couldn’t reschedule for a less wet day … so we stayed inside and had some fun …

I love the little pucker in his lips : ) …

This one might be my favorite from the day. He’s got the best eyes …

Sometimes simple is best …

Our best efforts with a bubble machine were slightly foiled by the constant breeze blowing at the top of the hill at Brandywine Creek State Park. But sometimes manual is best anyway : ) …

All of the dresses the girls are wearing are from Old Navy. Old Navy and Gap are two of my favorite stores for family photo shoots because everything in the entire store coordinates with everything else … in every department. So if you struggle with the idea of coordinating your family’s clothes and always end up getting too matchy-matchy, take a trip down to Old Navy or Gap and the work has pretty much been done for you …
