Last month, Royale and I hit up Beacon to do my first ever two photographers shoot the same model adventure. It was an absolute blast. Not only did it fascinate me to see how differently two photographers approach the same model and scene … but it really, really pushed me creatively because I learned that it’s super hard to be creative within a short period of time (and when you don’t get to control where you’re shooting!).
Last month, we each picked two spots and had four minutes to shoot in each of those locations in Beacon, NY. This time around, we traveled to New Paltz, NY (one of my favorite spots in the Hudson Valley!) and challenged ourselves to shoot for just three minutes each in each of the four spots. Yikes … three minutes is hard. SOOOO hard, in fact, that I think all the challenges from here on out will be just three minutes. It’s really great practice for a wedding photographer since we often have short periods of time to photograph people on their wedding day.
After it was all said and done, we each picked our favorite photo from each of the four locations in New Paltz. Here’s what we ended up with:
Oops … this next one should say “location three”!
