There’s just something about black and white wedding photos. I love them so much.
Typically, my clients’ galleries of wedding photos contain a mixture of both black and white and color images. I don’t typically do the same image in both color and b/w. Sometimes. But not usually. It’s quite literally my heart that dictates how the image should be edited. It just feels one way or the other to me. Sometimes, as I’m shooting the image, I already know exactly how it’ll be edited. It’s almost as if my eyes see the black and white even though color is before me.
I have literally hundreds of favorite wedding photos from the last decade or so of shooting. But here’s a small collection of some of my all-time favorite black and white wedding photos.
“I think it’s because it was an emotional story, and emotions come through much stronger in black and white. Color is distracting in a way, it pleases the eye but it doesn’t necessarily reach the heart.” – Kim Hunter
