I got to be a part of another first year of life! So my heart is happy : )
Babies change so much … and I LOVE getting to watch them develop and just continue to make their parents fall more and more in love with them as the year rolls on.
For this plan, we did newborn, six months, and one year. And precious little Rita was right on schedule for all the big stuff: Snoozing during her at-home newborn session, sitting up and looking mighty cute for her six month session at Longwood Gardens, and just taking some big-girl steps for her one-year session at Valley Forge park.
We were actually going to be shooting her session in April … but then a random 72-degree day happened in February, one day after her actual birthday, and I’m so, so happy we were able to do it then! February is way too early for flowers, but thankfully, Rita’s Grandma is a talented florist and so we had lots of blooms to work with. And then we even happened upon a patch of white flowers along the creek. So strange for February!
As I’m sitting here typing this blog post up, I’m listening to the freezing cold wind up against my window. It was 11 degrees last night here in the Hudson Valley. And it’s only supposed to be 27 tomorrow. So that 72-degree, flower-patch-sitting-in day was SUCH a tease!
And I have to mention that Rita’s Grandma made her cake. And it smelled GOOOOOOOD. Rita very generously flung a piece or two in my direction and I was very tempted to eat it, gluten and dairy and all : ) I didn’t. But she was a good sharer and gave some to her Mom and Dad, too 🙂
