the struggle is real — hudson valley photographer

DAY 18 (of 30) of my writing challenge: Write about something you struggle with

Well, clearly I struggle with blog writing challenges, lol … as the days are slipping by and I still have 12 more posts to go.

But you already know I struggle with keeping up with my blog.

Did you know, though, that I struggle (like … really struuuuugle) with knowing how much and what to share on this blog? I’ve been blogging for almost a decade now, and I still don’t feel like I’ve gotten it right.

Often I start to share … but then I stop.

The blogs I enjoy following are the ones where the author is fully honest about her life. The good, the bad, the ugly, the raw … its all there. I may have discovered the person initially because of their photography skills, plant growing knowledge, or face mask recipes … but what keeps me coming back are the fun stories and the blogger’s candor. It’s like a peek into an interesting person’s life. Which is, after all, what blogging is all about.

I’d like to be a better, fuller sharer on this blog. Of course I want to share my clients’ photos (I’ve still got to get caught up on fall’s awesome sessions!). But I’d like to be able to let go a bit more and just feel free to share … whatever. The good. The bad. The fears. The triumphs. The failures. Whatever.

The struggle is real, though.

So, stay tuned … I’ve been working hard on learning how to let go of some personal fears and self doubts. As they leave … you just may see more of me here : )

And while we’re on the subject of more fully sharing stories … I have a new little project that I’d like to do with my clients next year. I’d love to share some of YOUR stories, too. There are so many amazing stories, personalities, struggles, happinesses, etc. behind all the beautiful faces on my blog. I think it would be special to share some words with faces. We’ll talk about it on your next session ; )

XO,

Kate
