Two Photographers Who Continue to Inspire Me Year after Year — Hudson Valley, NY photographer

Welcome to day four of my 30-day writing challenge.

Today I’m supposed to write about someone who inspires me. The list is about a mile long of the people who inspire me. Truly. So, I decided to pick a couple of photographers who inspire me (after all, this is a photography blog!). And to be honest, the list of photographers whose work just blows my mind on a regular basis is LONG. So to qualify things, I decided to think back to the people I’ve followed for a long, loooooooong time. After all, that must mean something.

Jasmine Star. I think it’s safe to say that Jasmine tops many a photographer’s list of top fave photogs. Ironically enough, while I do enjoy her photographer, it’s HER that I enjoy the most. And judging by what I know of her from her posts, I think that’s a statement that would make her happy. She does a good job of sharing just the right amount of work/personal/fun/silly/honest/inspirational videos and posts. I enjoy her honest words the most … like her post yesterday on battling depression. I’ve followed along with her on her journey over the past 10 years or so because it’s been a joy to feel like a small part of it.

Tara Whitney. Gosh, I love this woman’s photos. I don’t remember how I first stumbled across her work … but I’m pretty sure it was at the very start of my photography business. I’ve written before about how I got sucked into the trap of paying WAY to much attention to what other photographers are doing … and how I then had to go through and do a blog-stalking detoxification. I essentially stopped following along with most photographer’s work because it left me confused and unhappy with my own work. With the exception of a few photographers, including Tara.  I just enjoy her photos. They make me happy. And they inspire me to want to go do my own thing.

Your turn! Who inspires you? A certain photographer? Blogger? Anyone at all. Leave a comment below. I’d love to hear from you!
