Oh, I love me some good, organic skin care products! I’m just a little bit obsessed with finding clean and non-toxic products that make my skin happy. I love trying out my own recipes … especially oil blends for the face. (Although, I think I horrified aesthetician Kristen at Savor when I told her how I often put castor oil straight on my face. Sooooo, maybe I’ve still got some learning to do!) But one things is sure, I have yet to figure out how to make a good eye cream. So I just accept that it’s one of the products that I’ll probably always buy.
Something I’ve been dyyying to try out is a good caviar eye cream. Caviar extract is rich in Omega 3 & 6, which is known to reduce wrinkles and fine lines. So when the girls at Savor invited me to come and tour their spa and get to know their products a bit, I JUMPED at the chance to join them at their Saugerties shop. And I was thrilled to see they have a totally natural caviar eye cream. I snatched it up, of course!! I’m really picky about what I’ll put on my skin since it sinks straight into my blood stream. But Savor’s products don’t have any of the chemicals I always avoid. I’ve been using the caviar eye cream for a few days now… so it’s way to soon to see any big changes, but so far I’m enjoying it.
What I loved most about my tour was learning a little more about Savor. They have spas in both Manhattan and here in the Hudson Valley. But it’s here in their Saugerties spa where they handcraft all of their products, which are then shipped worldwide. Here’s the story of how their founder became an “accidental entrepreneur.”
One of Savor’s missions is to hire women to make and ship their products through their Dollars & Scents program, which provides jobs to moms who need a flexible work schedule. I love that.
