oh, Facebook

I’m not going to rant and rave about how disappointed I am with Facebook. There’s really no point in doing that. Ever since they went public and started searching for ways to make money from users, it’s just not the same. I jumped on the Facebook wagon a bit late … as it just seemed like one more thing to manage for my business. But as I started to use it, I loved being able to connect with my clients and share their images in a way that could be easily shared with family and friends. Unfortunately, though, Facebook now holds back pretty much everything I post. Not just me … of course … they’re doing this to all business pages. Personal pages, too. I have a small little following of about 1,100 people and it’s rare that more than 300 people ever see anything I post.

There’s all kinds of tutorials floating around about how to get better reach … post links in the comments, post links in the main comment, use albums more, etc., etc., etc.. But really, when it comes down to it, you can see very clearly what they want me to do …

Facebook says over and over again that when a person interacts with a page s/he likes, the posts will show up more regularly in his/her feed. Maybe this is true. But if the person never even SEES the posts … how can interaction take place? So, again, I’m not going to rant. But I will say, that if you enjoy seeing my updates, feel free to pop on over to my Facebook page and leave a comment somewhere. Perhaps my updates will then land in your feed from time to time.

Happy Wednesday!
Kate
