thank you for a beautiful year!

Just two days remain in 2011. I. CAN’T. BELIEVE. HOW. FAST. IT. FLEW. BY! I would be lying if I said that this was the easiest year for me. There were so many challenges that popped up along the way both personally and professionally. In all honesty, I’ve found that running a photography business is indeed two parts FUN, but it’s also two parts challenge. I’m striving to grow as both an artist AND a business owner. It’s not always easy.

So, thank you to my wonderful clients. Yes, you! I love getting to know each and every one of you. You are such wonderful people with beautiful families and lovely stories to tell. Sometimes you make me laugh so hard when we’re on our session that it’s a miracle that any of the pictures are in focus. And thank goodness for auto focus! How else would I get wedding pictures in focus with my eyes all full of tears?

As I do each year, I’ve put together a slideshow to celebrate the beauty that was 2011. It’s kinda long. I really did try and narrow it down. Really! But to me, choosing between images is kind of like choosing between your children. How can you do that?! My images are my babies. So at the end of this difficult/lovley year, this collection of my work fills me with pride and joy. As a photographer, sometimes you press the shutter and you know … you just know that you just captured something EXTRA special. Portrait and wedding photographers live for that feeling! And despite the ups and downs I had this year, I can happily say that I felt that feeling more times in just one year than in any of my other years combined. That makes me happy.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for entrusting me with your memories. I’m excited for what’s to come in 2012! I know that we’re going to fill it with laughter, beauty, and LOTS of love.
