WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED?

I started my business in Newark, Delaware. Currently I reside in the amazingly gorgeous Hudson Valley region of upstate New York. Most of my clients are located somewhere in between those two areas. IS THIS YOUR FULL-TIME PROFESSION?

Yes! I worked as a graphic artist and marketing writer for about 10 years before switching over to photography full-time. I love my job ... mostly because I love the people I get to meet along the way! I started my photography business in 2007.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE?

What matters most to me is capturing real moments and emotions. Weddings are so, so special. It's not every day in your life when you're dressed up so beautifully and surrounded by the people you love most in life! I think of weddings as a memory scavenger hunt. My goal is to capture authentic and beautiful images full of emotion and love.

WHO IS YOUR IDEAL CLIENT?

Most of my clients come to me because they truly love photos. Pictures are really, really (really) important to them … and they want photos of their wedding that they will cherish forever. Many of my clients are camera shy (me, too!). My goal is to provide a safe space in which you can relax and totally forget about the camera. This results in relaxed, natural photos. 

My faaaavorite thing EVER is when my wedding clients become my family portrait clients. I've been with some of my wedding clients for years now and have had the privilege of documenting so many memories for their families. This makes my heart absolutely EXPLODE with happiness!

ANY THOUGHTS ON HOW WE CAN CHOOSE THE RIGHT WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER?

By now, you've probably realized that there are A LOT of wedding photographers out there. This can be a little overwhelming for people. But really, it's a wonderful thing ... somewhere out there is THE perfect fit for you and your wedding. It might be me! Or, it may be someone else. DO YOU PHOTOGRAPH FORMAL FAMILY SHOTS? HOW ABOUT DETAIL SHOTS?

Yes … and yes! We'll talk long before your wedding day about your goals for family photos. Some of my clients ask for no posed formal shots. Others want just a few. And still others have a long list of family shots that are important to them. The key is for us to discuss ahead of time your goals so we can make sure we'll have plenty of time allotted for family shots. 

DO YOU WANT CLIENTS TO PREPARE A SHOT LIST FOR THE WEDDING DAY?

There is no wedding like your wedding. You have a unique love, group of guests, venue, and personality. My goal is to sit back and capture moments that could only happen at YOUR wedding. What this means is that it doesn't matter if it rains or the sun shines. If it snows or is blustery. It doesn't matter if the ring bearer refuses to carry down the aisle a cute sign from Etsy … or instead chooses to stomp his bare feet, eat candy and run around in circles. Your day is your day. I prefer to not have a long list of images from Pinterest for the simple reason that I don't want to be distracted from what's happening on YOUR day.

For family shots, we will compile a list of your must-have family combinations so that we don't miss anything.

WAIT? I LOVE LOOKING AT PHOTOS ON PINTEREST! CAN'T IT BE EVEN A LITTLE HELPFUL?

I love Pinterest, too! For weddings, I recommend using your Pinterest board like an outline for your day. Yes, pin decor you love. Pin moments you enjoy seeing captured. Let those pins help you form the outline of your day. But once we arrive at your day, let it happen as only your day can. That's how the truly special, magical images are created.

HOW MANY PHOTOGRAPHERS WILL BE AT MY WEDDING?

For most weddings, I offer two photographers. It will always be me … and I'll bring along a talented second-shooter. Together we'll make sure your memories are being documented in a full, yet unobtrusive manner. For smaller, more intimate weddings and elopements, it will just be me.

WHAT IS YOUR TRAVEL FEE?

Travel fee to weddings that take place in my main work designations (Hudson Valley, NY; Delaware and the tri-state area; NYC) is included in the package prices. For weddings requiring accommodations and/or airfare, I quote on an individual basis and make all travel arrangements myself.

WHAT KIND OF EQUIPMENT DO YOU HAVE?

I shoot with an arsenal of Canon camera bodies, lenses, and flashes. I tend to keep things light … you'll rarely see me setting up lighting or in any way creating a commotion with equipment. Wedding days move fast, and I like to keep the pace so I don't miss anything!

DO YOU BRING BACKUP EQUIPMENT?

Yes! 

WHAT IF YOU GET SICK?

In the 12 years I've been photographing weddings, I've never missed a wedding. I take good care of myself because I know people are relying on me to be there! Should something extreme arrive and I'm unable to be at your wedding, I'll do my absolute best to help you find the best replacement possible. I'm part of a wonderful community of professional photographers … and we're all willing to be there for each other in the event of an emergency. 

WE HATE HAVING OUR PICTURE TAKEN. WHAT SHOULD WE DO?

First of all … let me say that I HATE having my picture taken, too! So I understand the feeling. My goal is always the same … to help people relax. To help them totally forget that the camera is there. And to provide a safe space where you can just let go and focus on each other. I provide as much guidance and direction as needed. But truth be told, it's the safe space that matters most. It's my job to figure out what you need in order to feel calm and relaxed. 

HOW MANY PHOTOS WILL I GET?

All images will be full-resolution and artfully-edited by me.

Engagement session: 70 
6-hour wedding:  375 
8-hour wedding: 450

WHEN WILL WE RECEIVE THE IMAGES?

You'll receive your gallery of engagement photos about two weeks following the session and wedding images within 4-6 weeks following your wedding. 

HOW WILL YOU EDIT OUR IMAGES?

I carefully sort through your images and choose the absolute best of the best from your day. That means that when you're reliving your day through your gallery of 400 or so images, you'll probably feel a little overwhelmed because every one of them will make you swoon. 

I edit each image by hand. Prior to becoming a photographer, I worked as a graphic artist for 10 years, so carefully editing each image is important to me. When it comes to post-processing, I prefer to create a look that is timeless and classic. Trends come and go. But classic, beautiful, artistic images will never ever go out of style. 

WILL WE HAVE RIGHTS TO OUR WEDDING PHOTOS?  WILL THE PHOTOS BE WATERMARKED?

You will not have any watermarks on your images. And yes, you have the rights to print and reprint to your heart's content!!! I want you to enjoy your images! I'll also provide you with a list of AMAZING online labs where you can make up cards, prints, wall art, and albums. Some of my clients enjoy making their own albums with sites like pinholepress.com or artifactuprising.com. Other clients prefer to order an album through me. 

DO YOU OFFER ANY SPECIAL PRICING FOR ELOPEMENT WEDDINGS?

HOW MANY WEDDINGS DO YOU SHOOT EACH YEAR?

Every year is a little different. In addition to weddings, I photograph commercial assignments and work with clients on family and child portraits. I thoroughly enjoy all of those different areas of photography! Each year I strike a slightly different balance. I take a limited number of weddings because it's very important to me that I book the right number of sessions and wedding throughout the year. My priority is to be able to perform at my absolute creative best for every task I take on. 

HOW DO WE HIRE YOU?

To start, send me an email and tell me about you as a couple and your wedding! Let me know the date and the venue(s) and then I can let you know if the date is available. From there, we can set up a Skype date or an in-person coffee chat. The goal is just to talk and see if my style and personality seems to be a good fit for your wedding. I'm a firm believer in matching up the right photographer for the right wedding! If it looks like we'll be a good fit, then we'll go ahead and get your day booked! At the time of booking, I ask for half of the full payment to be made in full. The remaining half is due no later than one month prior to your wedding day.
