off to the fair — pennsylvania family photography

Ok, so technically, this is still a preview. I’m about to e-mail Karen and tell her that her full gallery is also live … but until she sees that e-mail, here’s the “preview”. It’s a long one, too since this was such a ridiculously fun session!

We were originally supposed to do this back in the very beginning of the summer, but I ended up canceling the session because it seemed absolutely certain that the rain we were having that afternoon would still be there in the evening. It wasn’t. And Karen sent me a picture of her boys riding the rides at a carnival with a perfectly gorgeous evening sky behind them later that night. Sigh. So … take two! I arrive at the carnival a few weeks ago and there wasn’t a single person there. Not one. Plus, the sky absolutely looked like we were about to have a big storm. My heart sank. But slowly, people started trickling in (including the people who ran the fair!) and before I knew it, we had a little carnival. And thankfully, it didn’t rain. But we did have a crazy sky that night. You’ll notice how different it looks in each picture. Sometimes dark purply blue, and other times bright and sunny.

Anyway … enough rambling. Here we go! When Karen first contacted me, she told me that nothing made her happier than pictures of her boys : ) …

It was amazing how if we turned and looked in one direction, the sky was an ever-deepening shade of blue …

And then on another side, the sky was soft and cheery …

Pictures under a table??? Sure! Why not?! Where they go, I follow ; ) …

Yes, they were both tall enough to ride the rides : ) …

This is right before we ended. I don’t think it ever did rain that night … but it sure looked like the heavens would open up! …

Apparently these guys “fight” over the kids all the time ; ) …

And we’ll end this mega “preview” with my favorite family shot from the night …

That was such a fun session!!!! And the part I love the most??? It wasn’t even my idea to do the session at a fair. It’s just further proof that I have the coolest clients : )
